Firmware Developer – ALPR & Surveillance Cameras

About the role

Motorola Solutions' Specialty Cameras Engineering team develops cameras for special applications such as ALPR (Automatic License Plate Recognition) cameras used in traffic management and surveillance, aimed at public and commercial safety. As a Firmware Developer in Vietnam, you will join a Scrum team working on the firmware of these cameras, collaborating closely with other departments. The team develops applications and drivers under Linux using modern C++.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, multi-threaded, object-oriented software in C++ for high-speed data processing and networking
• Develop advanced software modules following modern C++ design patterns
• Deploy AI models on platforms such as NVIDIA and Ambarella
• Write Linux device drivers and debug them
• Identify and improve low-level system performance issues
• Create design documents on software architecture and algorithms
• Work with hardware designers on board bring-up and debugging
• Review peer code against coding standards and design guidelines
• Work with Quality Assurance on test cases and regression testing
• Follow the established development process and mentor junior developers

Required profile

• University degree in Information Technology, with 1 to 5 years of experience in C/C++ and Linux application development
• Proficiency in C/C++
• Experience or knowledge of edge-device applications and Linux-based systems
• Good listening and speaking English
• Detail-oriented, hardworking and able to work under pressure
