Industrial Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Aurecon is seeking an Industrial Mechanical Engineer to lead projects from concept through construction and final review, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of projects from initial design to construction and final review.
• Collaborate with local and regional design disciplines to ensure overall design integrity.
• Manage project components, budgets, schedules, quality assurance, and client feedback.
• Communicate changes and modifications effectively to stakeholders.
• Assist in workload management and resource forecasting.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• Specialist experience in bulk material handling, particularly belt conveyor design (power/tension calculations, equipment design, transfer chute design).
• Experience designing and specifying industrial machines and components.
• Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis and Discrete Element Analysis.
• Project management experience on small projects.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of Australian standards such as AS 4324/ISO 5049 and AS 4024/ISO 12100 is a plus.
