Lead AI Safety & Security Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Lead AI Safety & Security Engineer to own safety evaluation and security testing across Bosch’s growing portfolio of AI‑enabled products and internal tooling, including large language model deployments and agentic AI systems. You will lead both safety and security aspects, building the practice from the ground up and ensuring AI systems behave safely and are resistant to manipulation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and run safety evaluations for LLM‑based features and AI agents, including red‑team testing, jailbreak and guardrail‑bypass assessments.
• Conduct security testing such as prompt injection, tool/plugin abuse, and confused‑deputy risk analysis.
• Build and maintain a comprehensive threat model covering user input, model reasoning, and tool execution.
• Scope, brief, and review external red‑team/pentest vendor outputs, writing test specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Track emerging frameworks (OWASP, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, EU AI Act) and translate them into concrete test requirements.
• Partner with AI/ML engineering teams to embed safety and security into system design and produce governance documentation.
• Develop test tooling such as adversarial‑prompt harnesses, automated jailbreak pipelines, and MCP/tool‑schema fuzzers.
• Mentor engineers and grow the safety/security practice across multiple business units.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in security testing, AI/ML safety research, or a closely related discipline.
• Hands‑on experience red‑team testing LLM or agentic AI systems, including prompt injection and jailbreak techniques.
• Working knowledge of at least one AI safety/governance framework (e.g., NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, EU AI Act).
• Strong technical writing skills to produce findings and specifications for engineers and compliance stakeholders.

Required skills

• Python programming for building evaluation harnesses and test tooling.
• JavaScript/Node.js for developing testing scripts and integrations.
