Cloud Platform Engineering Lead (AWS)

About the role

The Cloud Platform Lead builds and manages the bank's cloud platform and drives its adoption across ACB, supporting application migration and modernization. The role leads platform engineering, operations and security, working with technology and business stakeholders to deliver a secure, reliable, cost-effective and developer-friendly cloud platform on AWS.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the single-threaded leader across Platform, Operations and Security, leading a technical team responsible for the cloud platform architecture and migration to AWS.
• Align cloud platform services with the needs of business and application teams, educate senior executives on cloud differentiators, and drive cloud adoption.
• Foster innovation across compute, storage, databases, data analytics, networking and serverless, and build internal developer platforms (self-service provisioning, golden paths, developer portals).
• Standardize Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, Terraform) with governance guardrails and automated compliance, and establish container and serverless capabilities (EKS/ECS, service mesh).
• Champion AI/ML platforms (Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker) and generative AI developer tools (Amazon Q Developer).
• Implement FinOps-by-design through a cost-transparent service catalog, resource quotas and showback, and set up reliability practices such as SLOs, health dashboards and capacity planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cloud Computing or a related field; Master's is an advantage.
• 7+ years architecting and operating solutions on AWS and/or other cloud platforms, including internal developer platforms or platform-as-a-product organizations.
• 3+ years of leadership or team management experience.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code at scale (Terraform, CDK, and/or Crossplane)
• Container platforms (EKS/ECS), service mesh and serverless architectures
• Understanding of AI/ML platforms and data engineering on AWS
• FinOps and cloud financial governance
• Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional, AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty, AWS Certified Generative AI Developer Professional, AWS Certified Security Specialty
