Investment Compliance Manager

About the role

This role supports Manulife's investment business in Vietnam in maintaining compliance with applicable Vietnamese laws and regulations, Manulife policies and internal procedures. It sits within the Legal & Compliance function, monitoring regulatory compliance, strengthening internal controls and giving practical compliance advice to the business. The position suits someone with an accounting or auditing background who wants a long-term career in Compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor compliance across business and support functions against laws, regulations, policies and procedures, and give timely advice
• Review marketing, advertising, product and client-facing materials from a compliance perspective and coordinate revisions
• Perform KYC, customer due diligence and AML reviews, escalating unusual or higher-risk matters
• Carry out periodic compliance monitoring and testing of sales, distribution and marketing activities, documenting findings and following up remediation
• Prepare compliance reports and regulatory filings for management, Group Compliance, Vietnamese regulators and industry bodies
• Support regulatory licensing, registrations, notifications and monitoring of professional qualifications and training
• Maintain compliance records, registers, policies and procedures in an auditable way
• Track regulatory developments and support the implementation of required changes

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Auditing, or equivalent qualifications meeting Vietnamese regulatory requirements
• At least one year of practical accounting or auditing experience, plus enough professional experience to meet internal control personnel requirements for a fund management company
• Approximately 2-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing, internal control, compliance, risk management or financial services; candidates with less experience but a strong compliance foundation may be considered
• Commitment to a long-term career in Compliance and willingness to complete structured training and development
• Intermediate English, and proficiency in Microsoft Office

Required skills

• Ability to review documents, financial information and processes, identify control or compliance risks and recommend practical solutions
• Independence, initiative, stakeholder management and communication skills
• Preferred: experience in external/internal audit, accounting or financial control in a regulated institution, knowledge of Vietnamese securities and AML/KYC regulations, and experience with regulatory filings and audits
