Senior Embedded System & Software Test Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Embedded System & Software Test Engineer you will lead testing activities for occupant safety systems across multiple automotive projects. You will define test strategies, manage test planning and resources, and ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and communicate project‑specific test strategies and plans aligned with organisational standards.
• Define test activities, success criteria and assign responsibilities to the test team.
• Integrate testing activities across all software development phases, synchronising with development schedules.
• Perform requirements analysis to guarantee comprehensive test coverage and traceability.
• Design and develop test cases, specifications and high‑level test designs.
• Establish and manage test environments, including Software‑in‑Loop (SIL) and Hardware‑in‑Loop (HIL) configurations.
• Implement test automation solutions to improve efficiency and repeatability.
• Execute test cases, document results and produce detailed defect reports with technical analysis.
• Select and run regression test suites to optimise coverage and resource use.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading test projects in the automotive or embedded systems domain.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate requirements into test cases.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with cross‑functional teams.
• Senior‑level expertise in test planning, execution and defect management.
