Senior Test Leader - QA & Automation

About the role

Vinova is looking for an experienced, technically strong and hands-on Senior Test Leader to lead and develop its QA function across the company. The role sets company-wide testing standards, strengthens quality governance across multiple projects and builds scalable automation and AI-assisted testing capabilities. It works closely with Delivery Managers, Project Managers, technical teams and clients. The ideal candidate has a background in software development before moving into QA and has led QA teams in an IT outsourcing environment on large-scale global projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the QA/Tester team, and build a career path from Junior to Senior/Automation Engineer
• Define a standard test strategy for each project type (bespoke software, web, mobile, government) integrated into the SDLC across Agile/Scrum, Waterfall and Hybrid models
• Set quality gates with entry and exit criteria for SIT, UAT, go-live and post-go-live, and define quality metrics such as defect density, defect leakage and test coverage
• Oversee test cases, test plans and test data, and build a reusable automation framework covering UI, API and regression testing
• Select automation tools for web, mobile and API projects and integrate them into CI/CD
• Research and apply AI in testing, including test case generation, regression suite optimization and defect-prone area prediction
• Handle quality-related client complaints, report portfolio-level quality status to the Chief Delivery Officer, and run root-cause analysis on critical defects

Required profile

• 7-8 years in the software industry, including hands-on software development before moving to QA, able to read code and review test coverage
• Experience in IT outsourcing companies and at least 3 years in a QA team lead role
• Proven experience leading QA teams on large-scale global projects
• ISTQB Foundation/Advanced Level certification preferred; automation or AI/ML QA certification a plus

Required skills

• Manual testing: test case design, test planning and UAT management
• Automation: Selenium, Playwright, Cypress or equivalent, integrated into CI/CD
• Agile/Scrum, Waterfall and Hybrid methodologies
• Hands-on experience applying AI to testing (test case generation, test suite optimization, automated defect detection)
• Nice to have: testing AI-native applications such as LLM-based apps, AI agents and chatbots
