R&D Project Manager – Automotive Electrical Connectors

About the role

We are looking for an experienced R&D Project Manager to lead development projects for automotive electrical connectors. The role involves managing both platform and customer‑specific projects from concept through to pilot production, ensuring delivery on specifications, schedule, and budget.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute development projects for new connector solutions, from SOD to SOP.
• Manage customer‑driven variant projects and coordinate with sales, purchasing, and product management.
• Lead cross‑functional engineering teams, including testing, production planning, process development, and quality.
• Represent the project in reporting committees up to product area management.
• Develop and manage requirements, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
• Coordinate with external and internal service providers and maintain project documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Proven project management experience in the automotive sector with strong engineering understanding.
• Independent, well‑structured, goal‑oriented work style with high resilience.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; additional Japanese or German is a plus.
• International or intercultural experience is desirable.
