Sales Manager – Surface Treatment (Vietnam)

About the role

The Sales Manager – Surface Treatment will lead the commercial activities for BASF’s cold‑forming solutions in Vietnam, supporting key customers across the APAC region. The role combines technical support, troubleshooting and new‑line start‑up assistance with sales development to drive growth in wire drawing, tube drawing and cold forging applications.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site and virtual technical support to strategic customers in APAC, focusing on cold‑forming processes.
• Conduct troubleshooting, including laboratory simulations of field scenarios, and support line audits.
• Manage new line start‑ups, perform bath make‑up calculations and initial parameter checks.
• Deliver technical training in close collaboration with customers and internal sales teams.
• Prepare and share troubleshooting experiences, lessons learned and technology gap analyses regionally.
• Collaborate with regional and global colleagues in English, acting as the link between local and international teams.
• Assist in plant layout design, optimisation and act as backup for the Application team when needed.
• Support sales efforts to acquire new customer projects and expand the segment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales or application support within the chemical or surface‑treatment industry.
• Proven ability to work with APAC customers and manage cross‑functional projects.
• Fluent English communication skills.
