Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – R&D

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join Bosch’s Automotive R&D Centre in Ho Chi Minh City. The role focuses on developing mechanical solutions for automotive components, balancing technical performance, manufacturability and cost.

Key responsibilities

• Develop design concepts and detailed solutions considering technical, material, manufacturing and economic aspects.
• Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis and functional proofs.
• Apply engineering tools such as decision matrix, FMEA, DRBFM and DMFA to mitigate technical risks.
• Produce technical 2D drawings, 3D models, bills of materials and related documentation.
• Collaborate with technical leads, testing engineers, production planners, sales, purchasing, quality and process development teams.
• Plan, monitor and meet design schedules for project work packages.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive or related field.
• Recent graduate or candidate with prior design experience in automotive or mechanical domains.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and automotive component functions and structures.
• Proactive attitude, good communication skills in English (written and spoken) and willingness to take responsibility.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools, specifically Unigraphics NX (modeling, drafting, assembly).
• Experience in tolerance analysis, design calculations and bill of materials creation.
• Knowledge of risk assessment methods: FMEA, DRBFM, DMFA.
• Ability to use decision‑matrix techniques for design optimisation.
